A very long overdue blog

A very loooooong overdue blog about bintan and kl....

It's been one week since i came back from Bintan. Had a very long holiday - 3 days to kl and 3 days to bintan. It was a supercharged week, did lots and lots of shopping and many kinds of activities.

It was megasale in kl, i almost went shopping crazy over there (but have to think of budget). Found two gifts for hantaran (for both of us). I'm giving Dear a surprise, won't tell him until our wedding day. As for me, Anna Sui! Rite now, I'm quite fond of her products and packaging. Yipee, i got a whitening set for only RM$200, whereas in s'pore, the same set would cost ard $100+.

We went shopping in midvalley, klcc and times square within 12 hours. My feet was aching! We had a driver to chauffer us ard, so it saved us lots of time for shopping. AND the best part was I ate my favourite, Nando's. Was craving it for a long long time.

Finally, able to get my hands (or rather my mouth) on it. Yummy!

Bintan
I went Bintan with three other closest cuzzins. We stayed at Mana Mana beach resort. We tried snorkelling (a first for all of us), tradional javanese lulur massage, banana boat, mountain trekking (another first) and juz hangout at the beach.

Snorkelling was something that i wanted to try for awhile now. All of us were very eager to try. The dive master who brought us looked like Owen wilson - and yeah, has a sarcastic humour. Me and my other cousin was the first to 'go' down the boat, i was scared at first as i couldn't feel the seabed. Silly me! We both 'cling' on to the guy who brought us. Slowly, i pulled away from him and started snorkelling. I didn't even realised that I was swimming with the fishes (as my dear remarked, 'Suaku'). The fishes were colourful, and friendly. There were no soft corals that we could see. Only hard ones. Oh yeah, we saw 3 sea urchins too.

Breakfast, so much tempting food

The second day, we went mountain trekking at mount bintan. The whole trekking was something so unexpected. We were totally unprepared. The locals had brought ropes, walking sticks and haversacks, whereas us, juz our slingbags and water bottles. During the starting of the race, there were videocams, cameras. Apparently, the locals wanted to make it a yearly event and this year was the first. The four of us were placed at the starting point first. We were very enthusiastic at first, but as the trekking became harder and higher, i felt out of breath until i couldn't take it anymore. I stopped halfway and they had to send someone to 'rescue' me. I was passed from one person to another until I reached the finishing point. I realised that the locals were very friendly indeed. They would go all the way although i insisted i was fine.

At Mayang Sari Spa

After trekking, we went for spa. The place was gorgeous. We had booked garden pavilion for our spa (it was an outdoor garden hut). Since we went at nite, there was no distraction from passerby and it was very cooling indeed. The waves were crashing nearby and frogs were croaking somewhere in our hut. We felt so relaxed, with tumeric scrub, yogurt and floral bath. All in all, it took us about 2hrs+. Ahhh, nice!

Third day was rest and relax. We went banana boating. We all thought it was very boring ride where we sat on a banana bouy thingy, and a boat would pull us around. We were wrong. We had to hold on for our dear life. We were shouting like crazy, i personally fell down twice. Mar lost her contacts. It was very exhilarating and funny situation.

After three days of relaxing, we were back in sunny s'pore. I felt so sad that the trip has ended..another round trip to bintan next year, girls?
